Each year, Paris sparkles during the holidays season. The magical colors of the seasonal street decorations create a dazzling sight for tourist from all over the world as well as for Parisians. Luminous arches, multi-colored bulbs, incandescent flames and sparkling projections of light deck out the avenues of the French capital. More than ever, Paris lives up to its name City of lights!
From November to the beginning of January, the Christmas illuminations on the most known avenues and in many other places across the city make Paris more magical than ever!
True moment of delight for the little ones, but also for all those who kept a child’s soul just like me. So for today’s article I’m sharing with you some of my favorite spot to enjoy some of the most gorgeous Christmas lights
Starting with, the majestic Avenue des Champs-Elysées. Not only the avenue is flooded with scintillate trees with lights but also some jeweler’s stores shine even more than usually. Especially Cartier and Tiffany’s & Co which by the way are my favorite !
And we cannot forget to talk about the “Marché de Noël“ ! Around hundred wooden chalets offer christmas food and attractions ! Even Santa Claus comes to say hey with his reindeers. Certainly the most magical place in Paris.
During Christmas, store windows aren’t just full of tempting goods to buy, they become artworks.. On the Grands Boulevards you will probably find the most anticipated Christmas windows of the capital. Every year, with the help of renowned designers Le Printemps and Galeries Lafayette create a magical Christmas show.
I literally fell in love with each of the 11 magnificent windows from Le Printemps who present an idyllic picture with illusions games, optical effects and thousands of blooms.
But the icing on the cake is definitely the GIANT Christmas tree at Galeries Lafayette. Here we are talking about : twenty metres high and decorated with more then 5,200 light bulbs. Do I really need to say more ? Maybe just how gorgeous it looks ?
Last but not least Le Bon Marché
I admire their decorations as they stand out for their design, their mix of modern and contemporary aspect. This year Le Bon Marché concocted a « Noël sur-mesure » which means a custom-made Christmas. You can create your very own present by engraving, calligraphy or more ! And I have to say: a genius’ idea !
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing it !
Xoxo, Zoulou !
